London College of Fashion is seeking a skilled and creative Technician to play a key role supporting students on the BA (Hons) Fashion Retail Design and Brand Experience course.

The BA (Hons) Fashion Retail Design and Brand Experience course at London College of Fashion is designed for creative individuals who want to shape the future of fashion through innovative retail environments, immersive brand experiences and customer-centred design. Students are challenged to think beyond traditional retail spaces, exploring how physical, digital and hybrid experiences can connect brands with audiences in new and meaningful ways.

As a Specialist Technician, you will play a crucial role in facilitating students' learning and supporting them to design experiences that connect brands with audiences across physical, digital and hybrid retail spaces.

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Providing hands-on technical support in model-making, prototyping, fabrication and spatial design
  • Delivering practical workshops, demonstrations and technical teaching sessions
  • Guiding students in material experimentation, construction techniques and project development
  • Supporting projects from initial concepts through to digital visualisation, production and installation
  • Providing specialist guidance in 2D and 3D design software, including SketchUp, Blender, TwinMotion and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Helping students explore emerging technologies, including virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR)
  • Managing specialist workshops, equipment and materials, ensuring safe and effective working practices

You will also collaborate with academic and technical teams on curriculum development, exhibitions and industry projects.

About you

We are looking for someone with practical experience in model-making, prototyping and fabrication, alongside strong digital design skills using software such as SketchUp, Blender, TwinMotion and Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent platforms.

Your background may be in visual merchandising, retail or spatial design, exhibition design or a related creative discipline. You will bring experience of demonstrating technical processes, a commitment to safe workshop practices and the ability to communicate complex techniques clearly to students with different levels of experience.

If enjoy sharing your knowledge, working collaboratively and want to help emerging creative talent realise their potential we would be delighted to hear from you.
