Description
Join one of the most unique hospital medicine opportunities in the country. TeamHealth is seeking board-certified or board-eligible internal medicine or family medicine physicians to join our team with the nationally recognized Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital of Augusta, home to the largest burn center in the United States and one of the largest in the world. The center treats more than 3,000 burn and wound patients annually and is verified as both an Adult and Pediatric Burn Center by the American Burn Association.
No burn experience is required for this role. Hospitalists work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team including burn surgeons, intensivists, advanced practice clinicians, pharmacists, therapists, and specialized nursing staff.
Position Overview
- Admit patients to the burn unit and serve as the attending physician
- Manage medical care in collaboration with specialty burn surgeons
- Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up wound care
- No procedures required
- No prior burn medicine experience required
- Day shift only: 7am to 7pm
- 7-on/7-off schedule
- Closed 20-bed ICU
- Meditech EMR
- Established and collegial physician team
