- Title: Housekeeper Location: Upper East Side; Lower East Side; Midtown; West Side Org Unit: Evening Services - Research (Main) Work Days: Weekdays and some weekends Weekly Hours: 35.00 Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Salary Range: $21.59 - $23.52 *As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices Position Summary Under supervision, is responsible for maintaining a clean sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and co-workers within assigned areas.
- Provides assistance during facilities related emergency responses.
- Job Responsibilities Performs detailed cleaning of all assigned facilities consistent with department standards.
- Disinfects, mops and vacuums as necessary.
- Sanitizes surfaces and containers.
- Coordinates work with occupants to minimize disruptions.
- Collects and moves trash, recyclables, and regulated medical waste to appropriate locations.
- Restocks a variety of supplies.
- Keeps housekeeping cart clean and chemical bottles labeled.
- Identifies and reports on potential problems and areas requiring special cleaning.
- Performs specialty cleaning of furniture, glass, kitchens, refrigerators, and exhibit cases.
- Reports on lighting or other facilities related issues.
- Provides emergency response and cleanup services as needed.
- Provides daily documentation and updates on work performed including work completed, and time and materials spent.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned or directed, to support the obligations and operations of the department.
- Education May Vary; Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education High School diploma or GED preferred Experience Approximately 1-3 years of experience in maintenance, housekeeping or custodial services.
If role requires use of WCM vehicle for business use, must have valid New York State driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, verbally and in written form.
