About the role
The Cyber Security Ops. Professional supports in activities that ensure the delivery of security solutions, supporting daily global operations in the delivery of regular risk reporting, coordinating compliance review activities, and identifying operational improvements and organisational vulnerabilities and risks.
What you’ll be doing
- 1. Participates in the implementation of risk management procedures, performing security assessments and providing security expertise and support for the implementation of priority security programmes.
- 2. Supports the delivery of security and tracking key projects of security.
- 3. Supports in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within the area of security operations.
- 4. Supports the delivery of security execution updates for managing executive and other key stakeholders' interfaces.
- 5. Supports the creation of meaningful metrics to track and trend the progress of essential security services.
- 6. Supports leasing with business leaders to proactively identify the security impact of implementations across the BT Group.
- 7. Supports internal and external communications, ensuring the cadence and content of communications is appropriate, to provide exposure of the security function.
- 8. Supports partnering with the BT Group corporate security to build complementary services that leverage the scale and capabilities while delivering a line-of-business function.
Essential Skills / Experience MANDATORY: Linux Systems Administration, including install, configure, manage, maintain.
- Knowledge of patching and virtualization tasks Cyber Security Knowledge Excellent written and verbal communications, including documentations skills.
- General IT problem solving and debugging.
- IT troubleshooting.
- Network troubleshooting.
- Firewall troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with ticketing and change management process and procedures.
- Ability to learn new technologies without supervision.
- Self-driven learning.
- Desirable Skills / Experience A background in server and application management in a security environment.
- In depth practical experience and knowledge of a range of specific vendor products related to role.
- In depth practical experience and knowledge of operating systems and server administration.
