Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Physiotherapist at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust within the MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy Department. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with complex and chronic musculoskeletal conditions while managing an autonomous specialist caseload. The role involves supporting and supervising junior staff and students, contributing to service development and clinical standards, and demonstrating leadership within the team. You will also be required to work flexibly across a 7-day service as needed.
Main duties of the job
As a Specialist Physiotherapist you will be responsible for delivering autonomous, highly specialised clinical practice and ensuring safe, effective management of patients within your care. You will be responsible for undertaking advanced assessments, interpreting clinical information, and using expert clinical reasoning to inform diagnosis and treatment planning. You will be responsible for delivering and reviewing individualised treatment programmes, adapting interventions in line with patient progress and changing clinical needs. You will be responsible for using advanced communication and therapeutic skills to engage patients and carers, including those with complex communication or cognitive needs, while ensuring informed consent and safe practice. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate clinical documentation and managing risk in accordance with professional standards. You will also be responsible for contributing to multidisciplinary working and participating in the out-of-hours physiotherapy rota as required.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
HCPC registered Physiotherapist. Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification. Experience working in MSK outpatient or relevant specialist clinical setting. Evidence of CPD and commitment to ongoing professional development. Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and supporting service improvement.
