Director-level enterprise integration leadership role

Company Context

Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, Falcata is a defense technology company supporting mission-critical capabilities across precision weapons, electronic warfare, radar, ISR, and air and missile defense systems.

As Falcata scales through significant organic growth and acquisitions under private-equity ownership, the company is establishing an enterprise Integration Management Office (IMO) to create disciplined, repeatable integration capability and accelerate realization of the strategic and financial value of each transaction.

Position Summary

Falcata is seeking a Director, Integration Management Office (IMO) to lead day-to-day enterprise integration planning, governance, and execution across acquisitions. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director will serve as the central integrator across executive leadership, functional workstream leads, acquired-company leaders, Corporate Development, Blackstone resources, and external integration advisors.

The Director will translate transaction objectives into executable integration plans; establish clear decision rights, milestones, dependencies, risks, and value-capture measures; and drive accountability from diligence and pre-close planning through Day 1, stabilization, and full integration. The role will not replace functional ownership; it will orchestrate the enterprise integration system and ensure leaders have the visibility and support required to execute.

A critical element of the role is serving as Falcata’s primary conduit for external integration support, ensuring outside advisors augment internal capability, transfer knowledge, and operate within a consistent Falcata integration methodology rather than creating parallel processes.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Strategy, Governance, and Operating Model

  • Lead the enterprise IMO under the COO and establish a scalable integration operating model aligned with Falcata’s acquisition strategy and value-creation priorities.
  • Own and continuously improve the integration playbook, governance model, workstream structure, decision rights, templates, tools, and reporting cadence.
  • Convert transaction theses and leadership priorities into clear integration objectives, milestones, accountabilities, sequencing, and exit criteria.
  • Establish integration steering routines and escalation mechanisms that enable timely executive decisions and disciplined execution without unnecessary bureaucracy.

Transaction Lifecycle and Integration Execution

  • Partner with Corporate Development and functional leaders during diligence and pre-close planning to identify integration implications, risks, dependencies, resource needs, and Day 1 priorities.
  • Lead enterprise Day 1 readiness, 30/60/100-day planning, stabilization, and longer-term integration roadmaps across functions and business units.
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams spanning Operations, Finance, Human Resources, IT/Cybersecurity, Contracts, Security, Facilities, Growth, Communications, Legal, and other functions as required.
  • Maintain the enterprise integration plan, action and decision logs, risk and dependency registers, and executive status reporting across concurrent integrations.
  • Identify integration barriers early, facilitate issue resolution, and escalate matters requiring COO, Executive Leadership Team, sponsor, or Board attention.

Value Realization and Performance Management

  • Partner with Finance, Corporate Development, and functional owners to translate the deal thesis into measurable integration outcomes, synergy commitments, and value-capture metrics.
  • Establish dashboards and performance measures that provide visibility into integration progress, risk, cost, synergy realization, customer continuity, talent retention, and other transaction-specific outcomes.
  • Hold workstream owners accountable for commitments while distinguishing enterprise IMO accountability from functional execution ownership.
  • Conduct post-integration reviews and incorporate lessons learned into the operating model and future transactions.

External Advisor and Sponsor Coordination

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day interface for external integration advisors and coordinate their work with Falcata leaders, functional owners, and acquired-company teams.
  • Define advisor scopes, deliverables, milestones, and handoffs; ensure external support fills capability gaps, accelerates execution, and transfers knowledge to internal teams.
  • Coordinate with Falcata leadership and advisors on integration priorities, reporting, value-creation initiatives, and support requirements.
  • Ensure a single source of truth for integration plans and reporting, avoiding duplicate governance structures or parallel advisor-driven processes.

Change, Communications, and Organizational Alignment

  • Partner with the CPO, Communications, business leaders, and acquired-company leadership on stakeholder alignment, change impacts, leadership transitions, and integration communications.
  • Support organizational design and operating-model decisions by surfacing cross-functional dependencies and sequencing requirements.
  • Promote a practical, collaborative integration culture focused on business continuity, speed, accountability, and preservation of customer and employee trust.

Leadership and Capability Building

  • Serve as a trusted integration partner to the COO and Executive Leadership Team, providing concise visibility into progress, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions required.
  • Build Falcata’s internal integration capability over time, including tools, knowledge repositories, training, repeatable practices, and integration talent as transaction volume grows.
  • Manage integration budgets, external resources, and selected project resources as assigned.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where priorities evolve and multiple integrations may run concurrently.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in M&A integration, enterprise transformation, strategy execution, program management, operations, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or materially supporting multiple acquisitions from diligence/pre-close planning through Day 1 and post-close integration.
  • Experience running an IMO, enterprise transformation office, or complex cross-functional program with executive-level governance and accountability.
  • Ability to translate strategic and financial transaction objectives into practical operating plans, metrics, workstreams, and decision processes.
  • Strong program-management discipline, including milestone management, dependency tracking, risk management, executive reporting, and issue escalation.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and functional experts without relying on direct reporting authority.
  • Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and executive-presentation skills; able to convert complexity into clear actions and decisions.
  • Experience managing external advisors, consultants, or other third-party resources in complex transformation or integration environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, government contracting, advanced technology, engineering services, or another regulated project/program environment.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed portfolio company with an active buy-and-build strategy.
  • Experience with value-creation planning, synergy tracking, EBITDA improvement initiatives, or sponsor/Board reporting.
  • Familiarity with GovCon operating requirements and systems, including FAR/DFARS, Costpoint, security/clearance considerations, and government customer continuity.
  • PMP, MBA, or other relevant program-management, integration, or business qualification preferred.

Employment Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required: Yes.
  • Security Clearance Required: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Travel: Approximately 25-40%, with periods of higher travel around transaction close, Day 1, and major integration milestones.
  • Relocation Assistance: Not currently available.
  • Position Contingent upon Award of Contract: No.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check, security investigation, and drug screening requirements.
