Job summary
Post holder will be part of the Women's Health Outpatient Booking Team, responsible for administering the outpatient pathway in line with the 18-Week Referral to Treatment standards and Antenatal Care Pathways. The role requires strong attention to detail to ensure hospital systems and databases are accurately maintained and that all administrative processes are followed to meet both Trust and national performance targets.
Excellent telephone and communication skills are essential, as you will be the main point of contact for patients regarding appointments and outpatient procedures, while also liaising with colleagues across the Trust. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills, work effectively with staff and the public, and demonstrate the ability to manage pressure and meet deadlines.
Main duties of the job
Act as the main point of contact for patients regarding follow-up gynaecology appointment queries and antenatal appointments.
Monitor and manage follow-up and treatment waiting lists to ensure timely progression through the outpatient pathway.
Oversee the self-referral process for new pregnancies, EPAU, and TOP services, ensuring referrals are processed accurately and promptly.
Apply a sound understanding of the 18-Week RTT process and adhere to the Trust's Patient Access Policy in line with national guidelines.
Work in accordance with strict Trust and Government policies relating to waiting list management and 18-week standards.
Book follow-up appointments based on outcomes from gynaecology first appointments and antenatal clinics.
Contact patients to arrange appointment dates in line with the Trust's Booking Policy.
Input and update patient information across relevant IT systems accurately and in a timely manner.
