Empower Young People. Strengthen Communities. Change Lives.
The Salvation Army is seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded Youth Community Engagement Worker to deliver engaging life and living skills programs that empower young people to thrive. This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on youth work, community engagement, and group facilitation in a role that creates meaningful and lasting impact.
About the Role
Working as part of our Youth Services team, you'll support young people through a combination of group programs, individual coaching, community initiatives, and practical skill-building activities.

No two days are the same. One day you may be facilitating a life skills workshop, the next supporting a young person one-on-one, building partnerships with local schools, or coordinating activities that encourage participation, learning, and personal growth.

- Identify opportunities for community engagement, program development, and sustainable growth.
- Support safeguarding, duty of care, and workplace health and safety standards across all activities.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Certificate IV in Youth Work or a related qualification.
- Minimum two years' experience working with young people within community, education, or support services.
- Experience facilitating groups and adapting programs to suit diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Understanding of trauma-informed and psychologically informed practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively while also managing priorities independently.
- Current Driver Licence.
