Job Description

Job Title: Nuclear Field Service Engineer

Working Pattern: Full time

Working location: Derby – with travel to various sites

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nuclear Field Service Engineer to join the Inspection Maintenance and Repair Services (IMRS) team in Derby. IMRS is primarily responsible for the design, development and implementation of bespoke inspections for the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant.

Our nuclear business is a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority, managing all aspects of plant design, safety, manufacture, performance and through-life support.

As a Nuclear Field Service Engineer, you will provide both practical and technical support to maintain existing and develop new or alternative capabilities to support the repair, inspection, or maintenance of NSRP and associated systems.

Additionally, you will be responsible for executing significant on-site repair, inspection, or maintenance with minimal technical support. Hold responsibility for ensuring that specific maintenance and repair packages are professionally administered on a day-to-day basis through on-site liaison with the customer, whilst maintaining all relevant technical documentation. Provide site management and technical support to NSRP repair, inspection, or maintenance work as well as providing direction to less experienced employees, supporting their development through the provision of on-the-job training.
