Job summary
Burnley Group Practice is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our large, busy training Practice. Working with our Partners and existing salaried GPs, you will have the opportunity to work with a supportive and experienced multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality patient care. We work closely with our PCN (a Partner is the PCN Clinical Director) and have a number of PCN staff based within the Practice including First Contact Physiotherapy, Nursing Associates, Mental Health Team and Pharmacy Technician.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a 6-8 session per week (must include Fridays) salaried GP who will work as an autonomous practitioner providing high quality, evidence based, primary care services.
You will undertake a full range of general medical services in accordance with the NHS Contract including home visits, appropriate administrative work such as investigations and correspondence, as well as QOF and quality work.
You will adhere to General Medical Council standards and contribute to effective practice management, maintaining a positive and collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Burnley Group Practice is a large training practice based across three sites in Burnley. We have an excellent multidisciplinary team which includes Partners, salaried GPs, ANP, Paramedic, Pharmacists, full nursing team all supported by experienced reception and admin teams. Our salaried GPs contribute to supporting trainees - we normally have two to three ST2/ST3s.
We offer an excellent package which includes 6 weeks annual leave plus Bank Holidays and one week's paid study leave. We offer a competitive salary in line with BMA guidelines with a starting point subject to experience.

The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for providing high-quality medical services to the practice population in line with the GMS contract. You will adhere to General Medical Council standards for Good Medical Practice, contribute to effective practice management, and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with the multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities & Clinical Duties
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based medical care
Manage acute presentations and long-term conditions
Provide services in line with the GMS contract and prescribing guidance
Participate in Home Visits
Manage own admin lists including pathology, investigations and correspondence
Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records
Support QOF delivery, clinical audit, and quality improvement initiatives
Contribute to clinical governance, significant event reviews and audits
Administrative & Organisational Duties
Process referrals, repeat prescriptions, and associated admin tasks
Contribute to medicines optimisation across the Practice
Attend and contribute to practice meetings
Support partners in achieving strategic aims and service development
Adhere to practice policies, protocols, and regional directives
Education, Training & Development
Commit to CPD, appraisal, and revalidation
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Qualified General Practitioner with GMC registration and licence to practise Experience working within UK General Practice Included on the NHS Performers List Appropriate Medical Indemnity Excellent clinical knowledge and communication skills Commitment to high quality patient care Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Good working knowledge of EMIS
Desirable
Experience with QOF and quality targets, audits and clinical governance MRCGP
