About this role

Job summary

As a Team Administrator within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), you will play a vital role in supporting the effective running of the service and ensuring a high-quality experience for children, young people, and their families.

The post holder will provide essential administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the service.

You will work closely with clinicians and other professionals to support the delivery of high-quality care to children, young people, and their families. This will include managing appointments, maintaining accurate records, handling enquiries, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the team.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment. Experience of working in a healthcare or confidential setting and familiarity with NHS systems (such as RiO or similar) would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

Acting as a first point of contact for service users, carers, and professionals, managing telephone calls, emails, and correspondence in a professional and sensitive manner.

Maintaining and updating electronic patient records (e.g. on RiO or other clinical systems) accurately and confidentially.

Supporting the coordination of appointments, meetings, and clinical diaries, including room bookings and minute-taking when required.

Assisting in the preparation and distribution of reports, letters, and other documentation to meet service deadlines.

Managing incoming and outgoing post and ensuring documents are processed and filed appropriately.

Liaising with internal departments, schools, social care, and other agencies to facilitate smooth communication and service delivery.

Monitoring and ordering office supplies and equipment, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Supporting data collection, reporting, and audit processes as required by the team or service manager.

Upholding confidentiality, data protection, and safeguarding standards at all times.

Qualifications Essential

NVQ 3 in Business & Administration or evidence of equivalent practical experience Good standard of secondary education; GCSE at Grade C or above, or equivalent A good standard of typing, RSA 3, or equivalent experience
