Job summary
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced pharmacist who is passionate about education, professional development and shaping the future of pharmacy in general practice. As Education and Training Lead Pharmacist, you will play a key role in supporting the growth, confidence and capability of pharmacy professionals across South and East Leeds as well as supporting wider practice teams around medicines-related knowledge.
Working closely with the Head of Clinical Pharmacy, PCN Clinical Directors and the SEL GP Board, you'll influence how learning and development are delivered across practices and PCNs, helping to create a skilled, motivated workforce that can adapt to the evolving needs of primary care. This role offers variety, autonomy and the chance to make a real difference at both an individual and system level.
Main duties of the job
The role focuses on leading and shaping education and training for pharmacy teams across multiple practices and networks. You'll provide professional leadership, mentorship and support, helping colleagues develop their skills, confidence and career pathways.
You'll be involved in designing and delivering engaging learning opportunities for pharmacy staff and wider primary care teams, contributing to service development and supporting consistent, high quality medicines-related practice. The role also involves working collaboratively with a wide range of partners across the city, ensuring learning is joined-up, relevant and responsive to local and national priorities.

Alongside the Head of Clinical Pharmacy, the post holder will
work with member practices and PCNs to support with recruitment of practice and PCN-based pharmacy stafflead the development and delivery of SEL GP education and training workshops for pharmacy teams and wider practice and PCN teamsdevelop education and training materialsdevelop template SOPs for pharmacy staff where appropriate, e.g. to support our pharmacy techniciansdevelop strong relationships with the other pharmacy teams across the city at e.g. Leeds GP Confederation, Leeds CCG, Leeds and York Mental Health Trust, Leeds Community Health Care and Leeds Teaching Hospital, and community pharmacySupport GP clinical mentors for the CPPE pathwayDeputise for the Head of Clinical Pharmacy at citywide meetings e.g Leeds Area Prescribing CommitteeContribute ideas to the SEL GP board regarding service development

Qualifications Essential
Undergraduate degree in Pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Evidence of training to deliver teaching
Desirable
Independent Prescribing qualification Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or successful completion of the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway Education and Training qualification Membership of the Primary Care Pharmacy Association (PCPA) Membership of the Royal College of Pharmacy

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate complex information clearly to different audiences Strong leadership, organisational and prioritisation skills, including working under pressure and meeting deadlines Ability to work collaboratively, build relationships and influence stakeholders Knowledge of and ability to work within NHS policies and procedures, including confidentiality, safeguarding, information governance, lone working and health and safety Understanding of evidencebased practice, research governance and risk management DBS compliance in line with legislation on spent convictions Selfmotivated, adaptable and able to work independently and as part of a team Access to own transport and ability to travel across the locality
