Main duties of the job The Maintenance Operative position at Avery Healthcare involves maintaining the building and grounds of Seagrave House Care Home in Corby. The role requires ensuring facilities are fully functional through a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services, and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems. Responsibilities include carrying out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs, supporting new residents in arranging their rooms, ensuring routine re-decoration, advising on supply and quality of items needed for tasks, and providing out-of-hours emergency service by participating in the on-call rota. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of one years experience in a general maintenance role or hold a professional qualification in a trade, possess a full driving licence, have knowledge of Health and Safety, and show adaptability. Your focus as a Maintenance Operativewillbetoensurethe building and grounds are wellmaintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systemswhilstensuringfacilities are fully functional.
Other responsibilitieswillinclude:
Carryingout all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs includingall electrical, plumbing joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home. Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish. Ensuringroutine re-decoration is undertaken asrequiredtomaintainthe standards in thehome. Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods. Providingout of hours emergency service,participatingin the on-call rota.

Have a minimum of one years experience in a general maintenance or handy person role and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade. Hold a full driving licence. Have knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments. Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
