Spinney Surgery is looking for a dedicated and enthusiasticPractice Nurse with an interest in diabetes careto join our friendly and supportive primary care team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who is passionate about chronic disease management and keen to develop or expand their expertise in diabetes within a well-established GP practice.
Main duties of the job
The Spinney Surgery has approximately 11,000 patients from wide variety of backgrounds all with differing needs. Our practice nurses have a varied and interesting workload, dealing with patients face to face, via telephone or occasionally video consultation.

What You'll Be Doing:
Providing general practice nursing services including immunisations, wound care, cervical screening, and NHS health checksManaging and supporting patients with long-term conditions, particularly diabetesRunning diabetes clinics and reviewing patients progressOffering lifestyle advice and education to support self-managementMonitoring blood results (e.g. HbA1c) and adjusting care plans accordinglySupporting insulin initiation (if trained)Maintaining accurate clinical records
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Registered Nurse with a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Experience in primary care or community nursing Interest in or experience with diabetes care Strong communication and patient engagement skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable
Qualification or training in diabetes management Experience running chronic disease clinics
