Job Summary -To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.

Main duties of the job
Primary Responsibilities
a The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
c Prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d Effective management of long-term conditions
e Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
f Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
g Working collaboratively, accepting a fair share of the practice workload
h Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
i Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
j Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
k Prepare and complete the revalidation process
l Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
m Support the senior management team in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure

Job description Job responsibilities
The salaried GP role follows the BMA model contract. The commitment would be 4 to 8 sessions per week including a share of the on-call rota. Surgeries involve seeing 14 patients in 10 minute appointments and are a mix of pre-booked and same day appointments. Home visits are undertaken as appropriate to our patients.
Annual leave entitlement is 28 days pro rata and study leave is additional and is 5 days pro rata.
The salary is competitive 4 to 8 sessions per week rate plus payment of medical indemnity fees pro rata.
