R&D Strategic Manager

The opportunity
We are looking for an R&D Strategic Manager to join our global R&D Leadership Team in Rolle, Switzerland.
Reporting directly to the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), you will play a central role in supporting the coordination and execution of the global R&D strategy. Working closely with R&D Vice Presidents across Human Nutrition, Animal and Pet Nutrition, Health & Wellness, Precision Fermentation, Oil Seeds, Carbohydrate Solutions and Research Process and Development, you will help translate strategic priorities into coordinated initiatives, processes and deliverables.
This position combines strategic planning, project leadership and cross-functional engagement. It offers broad exposure to ADM's global R&D activities and the opportunity to work alongside senior leaders, connecting scientific developments with business priorities in a complex, international environment.
Your responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Alignment
- Partner with the CSO on key strategic R&D initiatives, ensuring the effective coordination and delivery of associated processes and priorities.
- Work across the R&D Leadership Team to maintain visibility of major developments in products, services and technical capabilities, alongside business growth objectives and changing market demands.
- Prepare and develop strategic materials to support the global R&D organization, its decision-making processes and internal communications.
- Contribute to strengthening a 1ADM culture of innovation and excellence across the R&D organization.
Project Management & Performance
- Oversee and prioritize multiple concurrent projects, balancing competing demands and maintaining progress in a fast-moving environment.
- Lead projects independently while driving collaborative initiatives with stakeholders across functions and business segments.
- Coordinate planning processes, organize agendas and manage KPI and portfolio reporting to support effective oversight of R&D activities.
- Connect cross-functional teams, facilitate information sharing and ensure effective collaboration to deliver project objectives and improve operational efficiency.
Your profile
- Ph.D. in a scientific discipline, with the intellectual flexibility to engage confidently across a wide range of technical subjects.
- Strong organizational, analytical and planning capabilities, with the ability to structure complex activities and manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, project management and cross-functional collaboration.
- Native-level English proficiency, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to distil complex scientific and technical information into clear, concise and relevant messages for different audiences.
- Experience within a corporate R&D environment, particularly in working across multiple departments, would be an advantage.
- Comfortable navigating an international, matrix organization and building effective working relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Willingness to undertake limited international travel to engage with ADM's R&D teams and facilities across different locations.
