Job Description

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise low-code/no-code (LCNC) information management solutions in support of Navy program requirements using the Navy’s Flank Speed M365 Power Platform environment (Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI). Architect and optimize data models, schemas, and relational databases utilizing Microsoft Dataverse, SharePoint Online, and Azure-based data sources tailored for the Flank Speed environment. Apply platform best practices to ensure maintainability, scalability, high availability, and proper environment lifecycle management (ALM) of automated solutions.

Support integration of Power Platform solutions into existing DoN systems, legacy databases, and enterprise APIs using custom connectors and gateways. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, testers, and program managers, to translate complex business requirements into technical Power Platform specifications. Generate and maintain comprehensive documentation, including solution architecture designs, data dictionaries, entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), power platform governance guidelines, and technical reports.

Ensure strict compliance with DoN cybersecurity, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, Flank Speed tenant-level governance, configuration management, and software development standards. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues and platform limitations in support of operational systems. Participate in on-site technical meetings, demonstrations, and reviews at Webster Field (St. Inigoes, MD).

You must apply via Openings — American Electronics, Inc. (Amelex) in order to be considered an applicant.

Required Experience

A minimum of eight (8) years of software engineering or systems development experience, with at least 3-4 years of dedicated experience architecting and developing solutions within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem (specifically in IL5 environments preferred). Demonstrated experience supporting DoN, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), NAWCAD, or related DoW activities. Demonstrated expertise in advanced Power Platform concepts, including Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), complex Power Automate cloud flows, and Power BI integration.

Experience designing and implementing data architectures, relational databases, and data tables using Microsoft Dataverse, SQL Server, or SharePoint. Experience developing system-level data flows, ERDs, and interface schemas to map business processes to technical solutions. Strong understanding of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), version control, and software engineering lifecycle processes (e.g., Agile/Scrum) as applied to low-code environments. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities, particularly in navigating Flank Speed platform constraints and tenant boundaries.
