Job summary
We're looking to appoint a Highly Specialist Respiratory Physiologists, on a permanent basis to provide a high quality, patient focused, efficient Respiratory service within the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust. In addition to supporting the acute sites, the Cardiorespiratory Department will be provding some services at the CDC, Hollinswood House, Stafford Park. This post will assist in supporting all three sites and requires working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently as a professional.
The successful applicant should posses a BSc in Clinical Physiology/Science or equivalent with sufficiant post qualification experience working at Band 6 Senior Physiologist level, in a range of respiratory physiology services to include Full PFT, CPET and LTOT. HCPC registration is desired.
Main duties of the job
The role of The Highly Specialised Respiratory Physiologist is to provide a high quality, patient focused, efficient Respiratory service within the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust Work in conjunction with the department manager and other staff to ensure the service needs are met Performance of the full range of routine and more specialised Respiratory diagnostic tests Responsible for the monitoring and performance of calibration and quality control procedures for all equipment Supervision of less experienced staff Teaching and training of students, trainees and Trust staff Updates own professional knowledge Participation in research and development activities in Respiratory Medicine

The Cardio-respiratory Department has a base at both acute sites, and provides some service provision at Hollinswood House, our local Community Diagnostic Centre. We are a looking for a dynamic, professional and self-motivated Respiratory Physiologist to join our multidisciplinary team which functions as one team over the 3 different sites. This also includes supporting the service provision from the , Hollinswood House, which was opened in June 2024.
