Job summary
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity for Healthcare Assistants to become part of of our D1 Gastroenterology team. Ward D1 is a very busy 25 inpatient clinical speciality ward.
We have 2 band 2, permanent, full time positions (37.5 hrs) for experienced healthcare staff (part time will be considered). The position includes internal rotation to nights and includes weekends.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the individual needs of patients and their families. The post holder is responsible for carrying out assigned tasks involving direct patient care in support of and supervised by an Assistant Practitioner/Registered Nurse, maintaining a high standard of quality patient care and staff morale through personal example, good conduct and appearance.
The successful applicant will have excellent communication and organisational skills gained from previous experience / roles and ideally be familiar with hospital computer systems or equivalent (training will be provided) and have good IT skills.

Work within the ward setting providing high quality, caring, compassionate and personal care to patients and their families/carers.
Work under the direction of the Registered Healthcare professionals and senior colleagues, both independently and as part of the multi- disciplinary team.
Under the direction of a Registered Health Care Professional ensure a high standard of service provision on the ward, by practicing effective clinical and administrative preparation, effective communication and care delivery, prioritising workload appropriately and contributing to service improvements
Participate in giving compassionate high quality personal care to patients prioritising appropriately and developing competencies that safeguard practice.
Develop competencies appropriate to the role.
Act always in a manner, which illustrates respect for privacy, dignity, equality, diversity, and confidentiality.
Exhibit professional attitude and behaviour and always demonstrate excellent customer care skills.
Contribute to effective team working by being fully involved, committed, and participating, to achieving own and others full potential.
