About this role
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled, autonomous Paramedic to join the multidisciplinary team at Dordon and Polesworth Group Practice.
Operating within a primary care setting, you will provide advanced clinical assessment, triage, treatment, and urgent care for both acute, undifferentiated presentations and chronic conditions. Working closely alongside our GPs, Advanced Practitioners, and Nurses, your daily workload will combine routine chronic disease reviews, acute home visits, and general clinic sessions.
This role plays a vital part in expanding same-day patient access, reducing health inequalities, and easing workload across the GP team. You will join a supportive environment with guaranteed on-site GP presence for real-time advice and daily clinical debriefs.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will provide high-quality, hands-on clinical care for our patients. Operating within your scope of practice, you will carry out thorough patient assessments, manage triage, and deliver evidence-based treatment for acute illnesses and long-term health conditions. Your work will involve a balanced mix of general clinic appointments, routine chronic disease reviews, and acute home visits for vulnerable, frail, or housebound patients.
You will make confident, independent clinical decisions while staying closely connected to the wider practice team. Complex cases can easily be escalated, as an on-site GP is always available for real-time guidance, debriefs, and ongoing support. Additionally, you will keep precise, up-to-date patient records using our clinical software EMIS Web and actively collaborate with the wider team to ensure joined-up, continuous care.
Beyond direct patient consultations, you will play a key part in improving overall care quality across the practice. This may include supporting local public health projects, participating in clinical audits, meeting quality targets, and helping manage proactive care plans for our frail and elderly patients to help them stay well at home.
