Work collaboratively as part of a team including Health care assistants and student/ cadet nurses. Actively contribute to the delivery of high standards of individualised plans of nursing care.
Coordinate alongside the junior Sister.
Undertake all pre and post procedure patient care.
Work a variety of shifts to include days' nights and weekends.
Implement that clinical practice is carried out in accordance with trust and departmental policy.

Organise time, equipment and staff
Demonstrate competency in nurse led discharge policy to include the dispensing of medication.
Support patients, relatives and colleagues.
Participate in research and learning projects on going within the department.
You will be a 1st level Registered General nurse; some surgical/ medical knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential as training will be given.
You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative.
The Elective Centre is a busy working environment and can be physically and mentally demanding.
Have passion and drive to make this new centre a success.
Some cross site working may be required to cover the needs of the service
Main duties of the job
Plan, implement and evaluate standards of care within the Trust essence of care programme.
Provide high level of nursing expertise to deliver excellent standards of individualised care for both surgical and medical patients.
Establish a safe working environment for patients and staff and ensure
that patient dignity is compromised as little as possible .
Assist and coordinate in the cleaning of clinical areas, ensuring that the
area is clear of potential hazards.
Assist in the investigation of all incidents, accidents to all patients, visitors
or staff and implement the clinical incident reporting process.
Assist in the removal of clinical waste and contaminated items, including
Blood products to relevant areas
Maintain the appropriate unit documentation - e.g. profiles, care plans
and electronic records
Participate in the safe transfer and positioning of a range of patients.
Attend meetings as required
Send equipment for repair with appropriate documentation
Demonstrate competence in nurse led discharge policy to including dispensing take home prescriptions
Participate in cross site working to support winter pressures.
To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service rotating between days and night shifts.

An exciting Staff Nurse opportunity has arisen offering the chance to be part of the Lancashire Elective Centre
Primarily based on the Burnley site you will be required to work flexibly to cover the needs of the service. This does include supporting the Trust's winter pressure areas.
This unit covers all elective admissions to include an infusion suite, Day surgery unit with an inpatient facility and Procedure Room
