Team lead Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

Operational and clinical duties

0.4 WTE - Responsible for fulfilling PPHS service specification of preventing and managing pelvic floor symptoms associated with pregnancy and childbirth

Main duties of the job

-Clinical caseload to fulfill PPHS requirement and increased demand and referrals as a result.-Service Development-Be involved in quality improvement projects enhancing patient experience and journey.-Supervisor to band 6-Clinical education to team and MDT. Assist in inductions and training.-Assisting in operational-day to day running of the service, diary management, booking escalations, triage

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Pelvic Health physiotherapy experience, including experience of vaginal and anorectal internal examinations. NHS experience (can include undergraduate experience). Experience of performance management of physiotherapists and students Good knowledge of complex conditions and appropriate assessment and management of such conditions within Urogynae and Colorectal Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology underlying Pelvic health presentations Good working knowledge of all areas of Clinical Governance Including quality improvement, audit and risk management Understands the legal responsibilities of the profession Good understanding of statistics and their evaluation and experience of their use Basic understanding of computers and their applications

Desirable

Experience of quality improvement projects Experience of organising and chairing meetingsc Experience of lecturing externally Experience of the research process Experience of operational team management

Professional Presentation Essential

Physically fit and able to comply with Trust manual handling guidelines Able to work at intense levels on concentration during most of the working day Ability to work within a stressful and unpredictable environment

Skills/Abilities Essential

Advanced clinical reasoning skills in Pelvic health physiotherapy Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills Good teaching, supervisory & appraisal skills Proven organisational skills including prioritisation and delegation Ability to lead and motivate others Advanced report writing skills Ability to work autonomously within specialist clinical area of Pelvic Health Able to lead team training Ability to comprehend and work within the Trust's policies of data protection, equal opportunities and health and safety to meet the differing needs of patients

Education/Qualifications Essential

Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy HCPC registration Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal portfolio demonstrating postgraduate education/courses in Pelvic health physiotherapy POGP membership

Desirable

Formal or post graduate courses in Management Leadership training Masters Degree or evidence of working at an equivalent level
