We are recruiting for a Nurse Team Leader - Lister Modular Dialysis Unit who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the newly created Modular dialysis unit at Lister Hospital.
The role is for a Nurse Team leader who will work within the team to provide dialysis care for patients, mentor more junior staff and work with the Band 7 to facilitate the development and expansion of this service.
You will be based within the modular unit, partake in the renal nurse on call rota and be prepared to rotate within the whole renal directorate.

Main duties of the job
Support the Band 7 with management roles such as sickness absence monitoring/budget management/quality and improvement. Work as a team leader, managing the day-to-day shifts within the unit.
Be a primary nurse to you a designated group of patients managing all aspects of care and patient assessment.
Education of patients and staff.
Facilitate dialysis via AVF and THL participate in the renal nurse on call rota.

Qualifications/Training Essential
First level nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register, educated to diploma level. Relevant clinical post-registration education to include a recognized renal course and mentorship qualification. Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to lifelong learning. Evidence of leadership training / development.

Relevant health care related degree
Previous Experience Essential
Significant experience caring for patients requiring renal nursing
Desirable
Advanced skills in quality assurance of patient dialysis treatment. Representing Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in their absence. Understanding of scheduling and capacity. Ability to manage self and others in delivery of own work and related clinical outcomes to meet department expectations.

Ability to communicate effectively - excellent written and verbal communication skills. Evidence of leadership and motivational skills, ability to lead and motivate a team Demonstrates a flexible approach, able to react to the changing needs of the department. Ability to use negotiating skills in a positive manner to influence change within the department. Ability to liaise and work with the multidisciplinary team, making recommendations to enhance the smooth running and management of the unit.
