Main duties of the job Join HCRG Care Group as a Senior Community Carer, where youll play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality care to children with complex medical needs in their own homes and within the community. Main Responsibilities include delivering consistent, high-quality care to children and young people with complex health needs, communicating clearly and compassionately with children, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues, and ensuring the safe use of clinical equipment. This role requires working independently as a lone worker, providing mentorship, and administering medication safely and accurately while being part of a 24/7 service, which includes night shifts and weekend rotations throughout the year.

Main Responsibilities Deliver consistent, highquality care to children and young people with complex health needs, following care plans and safeguarding procedures. Communicate clearly and compassionately with children, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues, adjusting your approach where communication barriers exist. Maintain professional boundaries and promptly escalate concerns or changes in a childs condition to the Clinical Case Manager. Ensure the availability and safe use of clinical equipment, including ventilators, feeding pumps, oxygen monitors, and other medical devices. Develop and maintain advanced clinical competencies in tracheostomy care, ventilation, gastrostomy care, and other complex procedures. Administer medication safely and accurately, ensuring all care is appropriately recorded. Work independently as a lone worker, managing and prioritising your workload while seeking guidance where required. Provide mentorship, support, and informal training to colleagues to help maintain a high standard of care across the service.Schedule

This is a 24/7 service, which includes night shifts and weekend rotations throughout the year.

Ideal CandidateEssential

NVQ Level 3 in Health or Social Care, or a recognised Nursery Nurse qualification. Understanding of the impact of providing care for children with complex medical needs in their homes. Experience working with children with additional or complex needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build rapport and connect with children and families.Desirable

Willingness and ability to develop new theoretical and practical skills. British Sign Language Level 1 or Makaton. Experience supporting technologydependent children or carrying out relevant clinical procedures. Minimum 1 years experience supporting children with complex health needs. Minimum 1 years experience working with children in another setting (e.g., nursery, respite care, community service).Other Requirements

A full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes are essential.

Qualifications Essential

Essential qualifications include NVQ Level 3 in Health or Social Care, or a recognised Nursery Nurse qualification.
