Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust - Specialty Doctor - Anaesthetics

Applications are invited for a Specialty Doctor roles in Anaesthetics at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust as we are expanding and developing the team.

This post will be primarily based at Harrogate District Hospital, with some sessions undertaken at our theatres in Wharfedale Hospital. The successful applicant will join the existing 23 Consultants and 16 SAS doctors in Anaesthesia.

The successful applicant will join a dynamic and enthusiastic anaesthetic department that has full ACSA accreditation and an ICU recently rated as outstanding by the CQC.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

MBChB or equivalent medical qualification Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment.

Desirable

FRCA or equivalent qualification recognised by the GMC EDIC or EDRA

Experience Essential

A minimum of four years post qualifying experience, at least 2 of which must be in Anaesthesia, with sufficient experience to undertake solo clinical practice with distant consultant supervision in theatres. Previous anaesthetic experience with sufficient experience to undertake solo clinical practice with distant consultant supervision in labour ward or critical care Ability to work effectively in the different clinical settings required in the job including current experience of Obstetric Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine Shows aptitude for practical skills, required in the job. Experience in teaching and supervising junior medical staff where required in the job.

Desirable

Experience of working in the NHS. Experience in subspecialty or other specialty complementary to the department

Eligibility to work in the UK Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English that are adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues

Research Skills: evidence of relevant academic and research achievements or equivalent. Implementation of change within a department.
