Job summary
Watling Street Practice are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team, working 37.5 hours a week, Monday - Friday.
While an independent prescribing qualification would be an advantage in this role, we are happy to hear from applicants without this.

Main duties of the job
Working between our sites and the PCN head office in Kiln Farm, you will contribute to broader pharmacy leadership across all sites.
You will be working with an enthusiastic and experienced team of pharmacists, who are supported in their role and progression.
The successful candidate will also have the flexibility to work across all four of our sites as needed and will report to the Partner who leads our Pharmacy team.
This role holds an opportunity for growth, and to be part of a training practice with a positive attitude towards learning.
There is also potential for chronic disease management within this role.

Job description Job responsibilities
Core duties include:
Performing medication reviews, advising patients on prescriptions, and optimising prescribing Liaising with GPs across all sites and working closely with the prescriptions team Supporting the duty GP with urgent prescriptions enquiries Carrying out medication reviews, including new patient medication reviews and structured medication reviews Medication reconciliation and outpatient scripts Supporting with audits, QIP projects, and CQC-related audit work Audit for use of safe prescribing and high risk drugs Working with Prescription Clerks (based at Kiln Farm) and supporting them with queries and medicines management
Further duties may include, but are not limited to:
Conducting patient consultations as an independent prescriber Assisting with medicines compliance and quality audits Liaising with community pharmacies regarding stock and supplies Supporting Prescription Clerks in initiating or amending medications from secondary care Providing clinical management/support for the prescription team Assisting in the development of prescribing processes and protocols Acting as the first point of contact for prescription-related queries Supporting our local care homes with queries regarding prescriptions
Person Specification
Registrations Essential
Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Experience Desirable
Experience working within a GP practice environment Interest or experience in Respiratory care (highly desirable; upskilling available)
Qualifications Essential
Masters degree in Pharmacy
