Job summary
Hampshire County Councils Public Health team is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of our residents and reducing inequalities across the county. We work collaboratively with partners to deliver statutory public health functions, support evidence-based decision making, and drive positive outcomes for local communities.
Joining our Public Health team as an experienced and highly organised Business Manager, you'll lead our administration function and play an integral role in enabling the team to operate effectively across governance, financial, workforce and operational processes.
This is a key role within a busy and friendly team, ensuring the smooth running of business operations and supporting the effective delivery of statutory public health functions. You'll manage a small administration team and provide high level business and governance support to senior leaders, including the Director of Public Health.

Main duties of the job

Experience in a senior administrative, office management or business support role and a good understanding of administrative best practice, data protection and confidentialityProven experience of managing or supervising staff and coordinating workloadsA commitment to delivering high-quality services and strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing prioritiesA collaborative, adaptable and resilient approach and excellent communication skills, with confidence in working with senior leaders and stakeholdersExperience supporting governance processes, meetings or committeesStrong IT and digital skills, including Microsoft Office and collaboration toolsThe ability to problem solve, use sound judgment and handle sensitive information appropriately
