About this role
Job summary
The Dunstable CAMHS Emotional and Behavioral Team (EB1) is an extremely friendly and professional team forming part of a broader South Bedfordshire CAMHS service.
The post-holder will be offering assessments and treatments to young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties, involving parents/carers, schools and other agencies as appropriate.
We work alongside other CAMHS teams that offer more specialist support, for example for clients in crisis, or those with eating disorders or learning disabilities. We also work closely with our growing local community teams which have staff working in schools, GP practices and Early Help teams. The team is made up of: Management and Administrative staff, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, CBT Psychotherapists, an Arts Psychotherapist, Systemic Therapists, a Counselor and Mental Health Nurse.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will support clients of the Emotional and Behavioral team (EB1), providing specialist child psychotherapy assessment and treatment and offering advice and consultation to non-psychotherapist colleagues, families and other agencies from a variety of psychoanalytic, childhood psychosocial developmental and mental health perspectives. The post holder will provide a range of specialist child and adolescent psychotherapy interventions as required (short-term, medium and long-term interventions as well as state of mind assessments and inter-agency consultations). There will be opportunities to co-work with non-child psychotherapy colleagues to provide parent-work alongside individual work. The postholder will also provide generic specialist CAMHS assessments of clients newly referred into the team.
