Main duties of the job As a Bank Community Health Navigator, you will play a crucial role in connecting individuals to appropriate community health services, acting as a first point of contact for patients, the public, healthcare professionals, and colleagues. You will work from The Orbital Shopping Park in Swindon, ensuring service delivery between 8:00am and 8:00pm, primarily covering shifts from 12:00pm to 4:00pm and from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Your responsibilities include handling calls with empathy, managing sensitive and complex information, updating records, and coordinating with clinical colleagues to address urgent needs. This is a fastpaced, frontline bank role, ideal for individuals who can quickly adapt to service demand and maintain high standards of care.Youll need strong administrative skills, excellent communication, keen attention to detail, and the confidence to handle sensitive and confidential information with empathy and professionalism.

What Youll Be Doing Act as the first point of contact for service users accessing the BSW Community Health Services Single Point of Access (SPA). Handle incoming calls with empathy and professionalism, assessing information, determining urgency and directing enquiries appropriately. Manage sensitive and complex information confidentially, working closely with clinical colleagues when required. Accurately update patient records and key IT systems, including processing referrals and correspondence. Book, cancel and reschedule clinical appointments, ensuring waitingtime targets are met. Identify and escalate urgent or incomplete referrals to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Provide administrative support to clinicians and managers, helping services run smoothly. Previous administrative experience. Confident use of IT systems, with strong keyboard skills and attention to accuracy. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Ability to work with sensitivity, discretion and confidentiality. Wellorganised, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work effectively in a busy environment. Able to work well independently and as part of a team.Desirable Criteria NVQ Level 2 in Administration and/or Customer Services (or equivalent). Previous experience within health or social care. Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Essential qualifications include GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade AC, previous administrative experience, confident use of IT systems, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with sensitivity and discretion, and well-organized with task prioritization skills. Desirable qualifications include NVQ Level 2 in Administration and/or Customer Services (or equivalent), prior experience within health or social care, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience using clinical systems or databases.
