Templemichael Nursing Home Limited t/a Laurel Lodge Nursing Home are seeking Health Care Assistants for Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Templemichael Glebe, Longford, N39 XE92 . We are expanding our team of caring, empathetic and reliable Healthcare Assistants. We are looking for individuals to join our teams on a full time basis.
Purpose of the RoleThe Healthcare Assistant works as a member of a team delivering care to the residents. Laurel Lodge Nursing Home caters for respite, convalescent, short-term, long-term and palliative care. Key responsibilities of our Healthcare Assistants: Supporting the nursing staff and team in delivering quality person-centred care to meet the needs of residentsGetting to know residents’ interests and needs providing attention, support and companionshipDeliver a high standard of person-centred care ensuring all practices reflects the privacy, dignity and respect of our residents and underpins all the basic values that contribute to an excellent quality of lifePromoting the mobility of residents, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure optimum mobility is maintained and improved where possibleEnabling and assisting residents to maintain their personal appearance /hygiene needsEnabling and assisting residents to eat/drink and achieve physical comfortParticipating, organising and carrying out social activitiesSustaining high level of communication between resident’s family and staff, developing & maintaining good relationshipsAssisting in the upkeep of high standards of cleanliness in the homeContributing to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the homeAssist the management team during internal and external audits/inspectionsAny other duties deemed necessary by Nurse in Charge and management.
- Must be available to work day, night and weekend shifts on a fulltime basis.Qualifications/SkillsFETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare (completed or in progress)Experience working in a healthcare environment (with a good knowledge of HIQA standards)Excellent communication skillsAbility to maintain a positive approach in a sometimes-challenging environmentCaring and empathetic natureFluent level of English both written and oralRight to work in IrelandWhat do we offer?
