Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an opportunity for a Robotics Advisor position at Essex High School.
The Robotics Advisor will serve as the lead coach for an FTC Robotics Team. This role includes mentoring students, maintaining safety standards, managing the team, and coordinating the logistics needed to run the team.
Responsibilities
- Manage the FIRST Dashboard, team roster, and yearly budget.
- Organize and carry out fundraising events.
- Attend team practices, scrimmages, and competitions. Competitions are typically weekend events on Saturdays and generally last most of the day.
- Help students develop their team portfolio, support positive behavior, and encourage cooperation within the team, between teams, and with community members.
- Structure the team and support a team culture that is beneficial to all students.
- Teach students the machining and coding skills they need to build the robot. Coaches are not allowed to build or code the robot themselves.
Compensation
This position pays a stipend of $2693 upon successful completion of the assignment, in accordance with district procedures.
