About this role
Elementary Cafeteria Monitor
-Prepare cafeteria for students' arrival: double-checking tables are clean, laying out paper placemats for students who bring their lunch
-Assist students as they enter/exit the cafeteria
-Help students open meal items
-Monitor behaviors to ensure safety
-Model and encourage appropriate meal-time behaviors
-Facilitate clean-up process: cleaning personal area, dumping tray contents into trashcan, placing tray in area to be cleaned, sitting quietly while waiting for teacher to arrive
-Work with custodian to clean areas as one grade-level exits and another enters
-Communicate concerns with assistant principal
Hours: 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, daily
Reports to: Assistant Principal/Principal
