- Position Overview Responsible for a variety of communications, recordkeeping and scheduling operations.
- Coordinates, expedites, and tracks orders for the sales and accounting departments.
- Checks and records the weight and measurement of various transportation vehicles and materials for transportation on public roads in accordance with DOT regs.
- Uses scales, measuring and counting devices, and calculators to compare the weight, measurements or other specifications against orders & tickets.
- Follows yard inventory levels and prepares reports for the company’s Inventory Control Department.

- Essential Functions & Responsibilities Communicates with Truck Drivers, Loader Operators, Lead Rail, Customers, and PMI/CYD accounting departments in person, by phone, and radio.
- Checks and records weight and measurement of vehicles and materials for transport on public roads.
- Uses scale to compare weight of material against orders and tickets.
- Follows yard inventory levels and reports to Operations and Accounting Departments as needed.
- Answers incoming phone calls and greets customers/visitors who enter the facility.
- Reliable attendance Once trained, may operate heavy equipment such as frontend loader or skid steer to assist in business operations.
Requirements
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty according to Preferred Materials guidelines and standards.
- Work Requirements Must pass pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
- Must be willing to work flexible schedule including: nights, weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA/MSHA.
- Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: face shield, safety (steel toe) shoes, and hearing protection.
- Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
- Must be legally authorized to work in The United States.
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- Qualifications Education/Experience One year of administrative/clerical experience or equivalent education required.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- Experience in aggregate distribution ticketing preferred Knowledge/Skill Requirements Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
