Job title: Solutions Analyst

About Us

Schroders is a global investment manager which provides active asset management, wealth management and investment solutions. We aim to provide excellent investment performance to clients through active management. We serve a diverse client base that includes pension schemes, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, high net worth individuals, family offices, as well as end clients through partnerships with distributors, financial advisers, and online platforms.

Established in 1804, we have around 5,500 people across 36 global locations. Schroders' success can be attributed to its diversified business model, spanning different asset classes, client types and geographies.

The base

We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We’re close to our clients, in the heart of the UK’s financial centre and we have everything we need to work flexibly.

The team

The Solutions division currently looks after over £100bn in assets across pensions, insurance and other long term asset owners like endowments and charities/foundations. You’ll join our team based in London, but operating across the UK and internationally. Our team continues to grow to support the steady stream of opportunities landing with us across a diverse range of client types.

We are responsible for the design and delivery of tailored investment strategies for our clients, bringing the whole of the firm, which as of October 2026 includes Nuveen’s capabilities. We lead engagements with a wide range of clients, understanding their needs through deep investment knowledge and investment strategy insights. Team members come from a variety of backgrounds, most commonly from investment and actuarial consulting, solutions and broader asset management firms.

What you’ll do

  • Support lead advisors in delivering a wide range of investment services, from designing investment strategy, developing solutions in response to changing market conditions, and meeting and building relationships with clients;
  • Draft high-quality client materials in line with required timescales;
  • Undertake numerical analysis using our in-house strategy development tools, and take a leading role in enhancing current models and new modelling projects;
  • Help to monitor clients’ investment strategies on an ongoing basis, and interact with a variety of other external stakeholders and client advisors; and
  • Contribute towards proposition innovation and new business opportunities predominantly across pensions, endowments and charities/foundations. This could also involve supporting international opportunities with colleagues based overseas.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Educated to a minimum of a 2.1 honours degree in a numerical, finance or economics-based subject.
  • An understanding of investment strategies used across pensions, endowments and charities/foundations, including a range of asset classes and investment products, and the use of derivatives to manage risk;
  • At least a basic knowledge of industry trends and topical issues across pensions, endowments and charities/foundations; and
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and must have strong experience in Excel.
  • Strong experience in using Python (or similar) in investment/finance applications.
  • Prior work experience in investment consultancy, asset management or actuarial firms.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

  • Good organisational and internal communication skills. Able to manage multiple competing workstreams and priorities, keeping colleagues updated;
  • Although not required, at least partial completion of either CFA or similar is desirable;
  • Any experience with data visualisation tools (Power BI/Tableau) is viewed positively; and
  • Experience of working directly with clients, including presenting.

What you’ll be like

  • Well organised, with strong project management skills;
  • Good communicator – internally and externally to the business;
  • Someone that values the technical and analytical part of the role highly, with more of a focus on overall investment strategy than portfolio management;
  • Willingness to collaborate across multiple teams across a global firm; and
  • Highly curious and willing to learn and drive projects forward independently.

We Recognise Potential, Whoever You Are

Our purpose is to deliver excellent investment performance to clients through active management. We believe diverse perspectives and an inclusive culture help us make better decisions and achieve better outcomes for our clients. That's why inclusion is a strategic priority for us, and we are an equal opportunities employer. You are welcome here, regardless of your age, disability, gender identity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, socio-economic background, or any other protected characteristic.

We will consider flexible working arrangements for all roles and provide reasonable accommodations to support applicants and employees, including those with neurodiversity, disability, or physical and mental health needs. For more information, please visit our FAQs.
