Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and eager 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year Millwright Apprentice to join our team.
The Millwright Apprentice works under the direction of experienced Millwrights, Maintenance Supervisors, and other qualified maintenance personnel to develop the knowledge, skills, and experience required to become a qualified Industrial Mechanic Millwright.
The Millwright Apprentice supports the maintenance, repair, installation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of industrial machinery, equipment, and facility systems. The role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while progressing through the requirements of the applicable apprenticeship program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, reliability, continuous learning, and teamwork, while developing the technical competencies required of a skilled Millwright.
The work hours are Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified Millwrights with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and adjustment of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities under supervision.
- Assist with equipment breakdowns and corrective maintenance.
- Assist with the installation, inspection, repair, and replacement of bearings, shafts, couplings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic components, and other mechanical systems.
- Assist with equipment alignment, levelling, lubrication, and adjustment.
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and other maintenance equipment safely.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation as skills develop.
- Identify and report equipment abnormalities, safety hazards, and maintenance concerns.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and all applicable safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Participate in apprenticeship training, on-the-job learning, and required in-school training.
- Work collaboratively with Millwrights, Electricians, Operators, Supervisors, and other plant personnel.
- Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently registered in the Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) Apprenticeship Program.
- Must have successfully completed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of the Millwright apprenticeship program.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring equipment.
- Basic ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and technical information.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and ability to follow established safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Previous industrial maintenance or manufacturing experience is an asset.

Pay: $26.65-$33.11 per hour
