The Role
We are seeking a Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounting experience who is looking to grow within a public accounting environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, including reconciliations, accounts receivable/payable
- Process payroll and prepare T4/T5 slips
- Prepare and file GST/HST and other government remittances
- Prepare working papers and financial statements for compilation engagements
- Prepare personal and corporate tax returns
- Preparation of client correspondence (emails, letters, memos)
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Handle pre- and post- assessment reviews inquired by the CRA.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of accounting experience (public accounting experience preferred)
- Ability to work independently and detail oriented
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude
Technical Skills (Mandatory)
- QuickBooks
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Additional Assets
- Experience in a public accounting firm (preferred)
- Mandarin language skills (asset)
- CaseWare/Taxprep software (asset)
- TaxPrep (asset)
