Job Description
Under the direction of the manager, and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker BSW provides a range of screening, triage, treatment, and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. Human Resources Exemption: No Education- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)Licenses- Valid Class 5 driver's licenseCompetencies- Problem solving skills- Conflict resolution skills- Interpersonal skills- Communication skills- Basic - Computer skillsKnowledge and Abilities- Knowledge of intervention programs and strategies for individuals and groups- Demonstrate knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act/related legislation- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.- Ability to provide public/educational presentations- Knowledge in Mental Health and Addictions- Ability to establish workload priorities.- Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems- Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies- Knowledge and skill in community outreach and crisis interventions- Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner.- Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies- Able to work independently in a self motivated manner & respond under pressure- Understanding social determinants of health for program development & delivery- A...For more information on this job, please visit the employer's website.
