About this role
At Smith and Long, financial accuracy isn't just an accounting function. It's the foundation that supports every project, every employee, and every client relationship across our organization.
We're looking for a Junior Accountant who is eager to build a strong accounting career while taking ownership of some of the most important financial activities in the business: cash collections, customer account management, bank reconciliations, and general accounting support. This isn't a back-office data entry role. This is a hands-on position where you'll actively contribute to our cash flow, strengthen customer relationships, and gain exposure to the day-to-day operations of a large and growing organization.
If you're organized, persistent, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn, this is an opportunity to develop into a highly skilled accounting professional within a company that values growth, accountability, and excellence.
What We're Looking For
*Collection Champion- *You don't avoid difficult conversations. You're comfortable following up with customers regarding outstanding invoices and take pride in helping the company maintain strong cash flow while preserving positive relationships.
*Detail-Driven Accountant- *You understand that every receipt, journal entry, and reconciliation matters. Accuracy is second nature, and you enjoy identifying discrepancies before they become problems.
*Extreme Ownership- *You take responsibility for assigned accounts and tasks. When something requires follow-up, you see it through to completion rather than waiting for someone else to resolve it.
*Problem Solver- *When a payment doesn't match an invoice or a bank transaction doesn't reconcile, you're curious enough to investigate and persistent enough to find the solution.
*Growth-Oriented Professional- *You're looking for more than just a job. You want to develop your accounting skills, expand your responsibilities, and build a long-term career in finance.
*Your Primary Objectives: *As a Junior Accountant, your success will be measured by your ability to maintain financial accuracy while supporting the organization's cash flow and accounting operations.
