About Basoli
Basoli Sauces is a Canadian, family-run food business based in Port Hope, Ontario. We share our family recipes through Indian cooking sauces, chutneys, pickles and ready-to-eat meals.
We?re looking for a friendly, dependable person to represent Basoli at farmers? markets and events. If you love food, enjoy talking to people and feel confident making sales, we?d love to hear from you!
About the Role
You?ll manage our market booth, introduce customers to our products, offer samples and help shoppers find something they?ll love. You?ll be trusted to work independently and create a welcoming experience that keeps customers coming back.
A valid driver?s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required. You must be able to transport market inventory and equipment in your vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and transport products, booth equipment and supplies to assigned markets.
- Set up and take down the Basoli booth.
- Welcome customers, share our story and explain our products.
- Offer samples while following food-safety procedures.
- Drive sales through friendly, helpful product recommendations.
- Process payments using our Square terminal.
- Keep the booth clean, organized and well stocked.
- Track sales and inventory, and return remaining products and equipment after the market.
What We?re Looking For
- A valid Ontario G2 or G driver?s license.
- Access to a reliable vehicle with space for market inventory and equipment.
- Regular availability on Saturdays and Sundays, including early mornings.
- A friendly, outgoing personality and strong customer-service skills.
- Reliability, punctuality and confidence working independently.
- Comfort standing for extended periods and working outdoors in varying weather.
- Ability to safely load, unload and carry products and booth equipment.
Experience in sales, retail, hospitality or farmers? markets is an asset. Product and Square training will be provided.
Schedule
- Part-time, primarily Saturdays and Sundays.
- Shifts include inventory pickup, travel, setup, market hours, takedown and inventory return.
- Market locations and shift lengths vary.
- Additional event shifts may be available.
Compensation
- $20 per hour plus commission on sales.
- Commission details and arrangements for travel and personal vehicle use will be discussed during hiring.
