Overview
Eagle Lake Island Lodge is a premier all-inclusive fishing resort located in beautiful sunset country 30 minutes from Dryden in Northwestern Ontario. Our staff live and work on site.
The Fishing Guide ensures clients experience an excellenet guided fishing experience. They employ proper boat handling, learn fishery strategies, teach fishing techniques, clean & cook shorelunch, assess group priorities, and coordinate a great fishing experience. Guides do occassionally assist with practical dock work, island operations (transporting garbage, baggage, and other operational stuff) and always employ strong customer service. You?ll contribute to a friendly working environment, assist with docking, and help visitors understand where to go and follow fishing regulations to protect the fishery.
Guide Duties
- Employ excellent customer service
- Plan their client's fishing day incorporating group's skill levels and priorities
- Grow personal & team lake and fishery knowledge
- Maintain boat/motor/electronics including cleaning, performing basic maintenance, repairing minor issues and reporting any issues for resolution
- Clean, package and freeze fish
- Assist with camp duties on turn over days, opening and closing camp
- Assist guests with docking, fueling, and fishing equipment including bait, and taking care around people and gear.
- Help prepare and organize the dock area, keeping equipment accessible and workspaces tidy.
- Welcome and guide visitors, provide clear directions, and coordinate with colleagues as needs arise.
- Assist dock and Island team members as required
Qualifications
Required: Guide experience, strong boating skills, strong angling (walleye, pike, musky, bass) experience, team player, positive attitude, communicate clearly, work attentively around equipment and visitors, and always provide strong customer service.
Preferred: basic mechanical knowledge, or related hands-on experience that supports dock tasks and equipment care.
