Per diem- Pipe WelderJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Pipe Welder to support the fabrication, installation, and modification of stainless steel ground support piping systems in a demanding industrial environment. This role involves fitting and welding complex piping assemblies, interpreting engineering drawings, maintaining high-quality weld standards, and supporting critical testing and operational activities. The successful candidate will perform welding and fabrication work on stainless steel piping systems while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld complex piping assemblies using GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (STT/RMD) welding processes on stainless steel pipes.
• Interpret and work from engineering blueprints and isometric drawings.
• Maintain high-quality weld standards and inspect workmanship to ensure compliance with ASME B31.3 codes.
• Support the fabrication, installation, and modification of stainless steel ground support piping systems.
• Ensure adherence to industrial construction and fabrication safety protocols.
• Participate in critical testing and operational activities.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of stainless steel pipe welding experience.
• 2+ years of duplex stainless steel welding experience.
• 3+ years of pipe fitting experience.
• 3+ years of experience reading piping blueprints and isometric drawings.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy and AWS/ASME standards.
• Experience with rigging, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
• Experience working with high-pressure piping systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Awareness of ASME B31.3 code.
• Experience in industrial construction and fabrication safety.

Work EnvironmentThis position operates on a night shift schedule, typically from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with frequent overtime and weekend work based on operational needs.

The work environment is an outdoor industrial construction setting, with exposure to heat, cold, rain, noise, fumes, and odors. Regular climbing, kneeling, crouching, lifting, and overhead work are required, including work at heights and within confined spaces. The role requires the ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 75 lbs in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and production demands.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Brownsville, TX.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
