Multi-Axis CNC Grinding Set-Up Machinist
Join a stable, growing manufacturer where precision and craftsmanship matter. We're seeking an experienced Multi-Axis CNC Grinding Set-Up Machinist to produce high-precision components in a clean, climate-controlled facility with advanced equipment and strong benefits.
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate multi-axis CNC grinding machines (Combi, Anka, Haas, or similar)
- Adjust programs and machine settings to meet print specifications
- Read blueprints and technical drawings
- Perform machine changeovers and setups
- Inspect parts using micrometers and other precision measuring tools
- Run multiple machines while maintaining quality and productivity
- Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues
- Document quality checks and production data
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of CNC grinding setup and operation experience
- Experience with multi-axis grinding machines
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with Fanuc or PLC-based controls
- Ability to work independently and maintain tight tolerances
Preferred: CNC programming experience, Haas equipment experience, and abilities in milling or turning operations.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
