Job Title: Tech 1 Data Center TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking Tech 1 Data Center Technicians to support the construction and commissioning of large-scale data centers. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly growing data center industry. Technicians will assist with material movement, cable installation, site organization, and general labor tasks while working alongside experienced data center professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with material movement and cable installation.
• Organize the site and perform general labor tasks.
• Work with structured cabling, fiber optics, networking infrastructure, and data center operations.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of three months of construction experience (electrician, laborer, telecommunications).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working on ladders, overhead cable trays, and raised floors.
• Comfortable with FIFO and 3/1 rotation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• CSTS certification is nice to have.
• Experience with power, cooling, racks, and cabling.
• Previous data center experience.

Work EnvironmentTechnicians will live in hotels or camp-style accommodations with the crew. The work will involve new construction and refurbishing in an air-cooled atmosphere, which may be cold during the winter months. Expect a construction site environment that can be dusty. The role primarily involves splicing tasks and may require sitting in one area for extended periods. Transportation to and from sites will be via carpooling or buses. There are three different shifts: 7am 5pm with commuting paid, 3pm 1am, and 11pm 9am, each based in Mackenzie. Some shifts offer less overtime and varying days off, including some weekends.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $39.00 - $42.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
