Purpose
Ensure the effective routine care and treatment of crops, contributing to the success of plant breeding programs. Maintain a healthy, safe working environment while adhering to breeding protocols.
Key Accountabilities
- 1. Care and treatment of crops and trials.
- 2. Execution of emasculations and crossings according crossing scheme
- 3. Harvesting of crossings, seeds and fruits of the crops.
- 4. Participation in all crop care, seed extraction, cleaning and/or breeding support activities.
- 5. Daily functional guidance of seasonal workers.
- 6. Co-responsible for a healthy and safe working environment.
- Works independently
- Thorough knowledge of processes in plant and greenhouse
- Work includes simple administrative tasks
- Responsible for own projects, overview en communication towards Breeders
- Planning and execution of own, more complex programmes
- Functional guidance of less experienced Crop Workers (level 1 and 2) and seasonal workers
- Direct point of contact for colleauges outside own department
- Typically requires a minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience
