- The Role This will be a student learner position.
- The student will be paired with a tenured machine tool operator to be trained in the operation of machine tools such as boring mills and lathes.
Requirements
- Below is a list of areas and tasks that the student will be trained in.
- Safety protocol and culture while being in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Drawing interpretation.
- Loading of material into the machine with a crane positions & clamp.
- Alignment of workpiece and spindle manually.
- Setting readout dials to position, inserting tool, and cycle activation.
- Changing of tooling.
- Checking of first piece.
- Mill operation Selection of proper speed and setup.
- Unloading of finished pieces.
- Reporting method of any errors, defective material, or faulty equipment.
- Grinding of tools if required.
- Machine Lubrication.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly area.

- Ability to use measurement tools Basic understanding of machine tools Education and Experience Currently enrolled in vocational education.
