CEYLON COLD STORES PLC Executive - Logistic Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Soft Drinks and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC. The position is responsible for ensuring the accurate receipt of Ice Cream Finished Goods (IC FGs) from Production and the proper handling of crates returned from distributors. This includes maintaining an accurate record of empty crates, while being accountable for any stock variances.
In addition, the position is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate loading operations to enhance customer satisfaction, minimizing errors during truck loading, and ensuring smooth and timely transfer of production output to the main cold room. The role emphasizes maintaining strong accountability by reducing discrepancies, continuously improving processes and quality, minimizing operational costs, eliminating waste, and enhancing safety standards.
- Job Responsibilities Coordinate the receiving of finished goods (FG) from Production, proper cold room storage, and timely dispatch to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Manage reusable plastic crate receiving, issuing, storage, and reconciliation with dealers.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP, investigate stock discrepancies, and minimize stock variances and physical damages.
- Ensure accurate picking, checking, and error-free loading of distributor orders while minimizing customer complaints.
- Monitor and improve freezer truck turnaround time and loading bay efficiency.
- Maintain required cold room and freezer truck temperatures to ensure product quality and food safety.
- Coordinate operational staff and casual laborers to achieve daily targets while maintaining productivity and workplace safety.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ISO requirements relating to QMS, FSMS, EMS, and OHSMS.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, minimize costs and waste, and enhance productivity.
- Person Specifications Degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, or fleet operations, preferably in a large-scale operation.
- Knowledge of inventory management, order fulfilment, fleet coordination, and warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP/WMS systems, cold chain management, food safety, TPM, continuous improvement, and workplace health and safety practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure and coordinate teams effectively.
