About this role
The IT Product Manager is accountable for the strategy, roadmap, value delivery and ongoing health of digital products that modernize product definition and product-creation capabilities. Operating at the intersection of business, technology and engineering, this role turns customer and enterprise needs into prioritized product outcomes and leads cross-functional teams through discovery, delivery, launch, adoption and continuous improvement. The role has a regional scope and supports vehicle programs and manufacturing operations across international markets and plants.
- Own and communicate the product vision, strategy and outcome-based roadmap, aligned to Global Product Creation priorities, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, data, digital and industrial objectives.
- Build a deep understanding of users, business processes and operational pain points through discovery, workflow analysis, customer feedback, product data and market or technology insights.
- Define measurable product outcomes and success metrics. Use adoption, customer experience, quality, reliability, cost and business-value measures to guide priorities and investment decisions.
- Create, prioritize and maintain the product backlog. Translate strategic objectives into product capabilities, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements in partnership with business and engineering teams.
- Make evidence-based prioritization and trade-off decisions across customer value, business value, technical feasibility, risk, security, compliance, cost, capacity and time to market.
- Lead the product lifecycle from discovery and business-case development through design, build, validation, release, adoption, operation, enhancement and retirement.
- Partner with engineering, architecture, design, data, cybersecurity, operations and platform teams to deliver secure, scalable, resilient and supportable solutions.
- Coordinate dependencies and integrations across product teams, platforms, suppliers and business stakeholders. Escalate and resolve blockers that threaten end-to-end value delivery.
- Act as the primary product contact for business stakeholders. Facilitate roadmap, prioritization and release discussions, communicate decisions clearly and maintain alignment in a global matrix organization.
- Ensure delivery teams have clear outcomes, priorities and decision-making context. Promote agile product practices, rapid learning, constructive challenge and shared accountability without prescribing engineering solutions.
- Plan launches and organizational readiness with business, change, training, support and operations partners. Monitor adoption and incorporate feedback into continuous product improvement.
- Own product health and governance, including service performance, operational risks, technical debt, lifecycle obligations, controls, privacy, cybersecurity, audit actions and incident follow-up.
- Manage product investment and financial performance, including forecasts, budgets, supplier commitments, value realization and recommendations to continue, pivot, scale or retire capabilities.
- Identify responsible opportunities to use automation, data and AI to improve user outcomes, delivery productivity and product decision-making.
