Job Title: Mechanic Assistant | Pay: $20-21/hour
Job Description
In this role, you will assist experienced mechanics with mechanical repairs, maintenance, and equipment assembly. You will be responsible for assembling and disassembling sub and final assemblies and mechanical components. Additionally, you will inspect assembled parts and equipment to ensure proper operation, connect hydraulic lines, and fill systems with oil in preparation for testing. Collaborating with certified mechanics, you will perform general repairs and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
Responsibilities
- Assist experienced mechanics with mechanical repairs and maintenance.
- Assemble and disassemble sub and final assemblies and mechanical components.
- Inspect assembled parts and equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Connect hydraulic lines and fill systems with oil for testing.
- Perform general repairs and troubleshooting with certified mechanics.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 6 months of hands-on mechanical work experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable with reading blueprints and schematics.
- Basic math knowledge.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.

The work environment is louder due to large booms but remains clean as it involves new manufacturing. The facility comprises eight different buildings with an outside yard between each, including a weld shop, paint shop, and warehouse, requiring movement between buildings. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Bear Lake, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
