About this role

Abbey Catholic Primary School is a thriving, oversubscribed two-form entry primary school rooted in the Parish of St. Thomas and Edmund of Campion, affectionately known as Erdington Abbey.

Our school’s mission, “Learning to Follow in the Footsteps of Jesus with our Friends, Family and Parish,” is at the heart of everything we do. This mission is lived out daily through our strong Catholic ethos and enriched by our distinctive Foundation curriculum, Building the Kingdom, which uniquely integrates Catholic Social Teaching into subjects like History, Geography, and English. We nurture a warm, inclusive environment where pupils thrive spiritually, academically and socially.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our dedicated team and take on the additional responsibility of Maths Subject Leader (TLR2a). This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is ready to lead, inspire, and drive improvement in mathematics across the school while making a significant contribution to our continued success.

Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils.

Lead Maths across the school, including curriculum development, monitoring, supporting

colleagues and driving high‑quality teaching and learning in the subject (TLR2a).

Contribute to the Catholic ethos of the school and participate fully in the wider school community.

Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support pupil progress and wellbeing.

We are looking for a teacher who is:

Passionate about teaching and committed to securing excellent outcomes for pupils.

Eager to contribute to our Catholic ethos and wider school life.

If you are ready to make a meaningful impact in a school where faith, community and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do, we would love to hear from you.
