Salary: £46,000 - 52,000 per year
Requirements
- Background in software, electronics, or engineering, with a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in cyber security, information security, AI, or a related field; candidates whose PhD has not yet been awarded will also be considered.
- Research experience in systems security, network security, cyber-physical systems security, AI security, formal verification, or systems and software assurance.
- Strong software development skills, including Python and AI/ML libraries, Git, and Linux.
- A research mindset, with the ability to plan and conduct research independently or collaboratively, produce publication-standard papers, and deliver technical presentations to diverse audiences.
- UK nationality and at least five years of UK residency are required for eligibility for SC-level security clearance.

- Advance realistic environments for training and validating AI agents that mimic real-world networks.
- Research novel AI agent architectures and technologies.
- Develop AI agent evaluation tasks for cyber security.

We are seeking a researcher for a 12-month fixed-term contract with our national security-focused team. We build robust AI agents and realistic training environments to address cyber security threats to critical national infrastructure, including water systems, power grids, military bases, and government systems. Our offices are in central London, with nearby Tube and national rail links. Hybrid working is the norm, with one day per week in the office required, though occasional meetings may require additional attendance; commuting from outside London is practical.
